Eligibility & Application

Participant Eligibility for Program Services

Participants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a program of postsecondary education at a grantee institution (UL Lafayette).  Low-income students who are first-generation college students and students with disabilities evidencing academic need are eligible to participate in SSS-V projects.  Two-thirds of the participants in any SSS program must be either disabled or potential first-generation college students from low-income families.

Participant Eligibility for Grant Aid

Student Support Services Veteran  participants must be active participants in the SSS-V Program who are in their first two years of postsecondary education.  In addition, such participants must be receiving Federal Pell Grants.  Grant aid may be offered to students who have completed their first two years of postsecondary education and are receiving Federal Pell Grants. In such cases the institution would demonstrate that participants are at high risk of dropping out and have first met the needs of all eligible first and second-year students.

Program information is available in the SSS Veterans office, located in Girard Hall, room 108. We understand that you may have a busy schedule so you can also fill out an application and email it to us at sss.veterans@louisiana.edu or by fax at (337) 482-6833.  We look forward to hearing from you and are excited to help you reach your next educational milestone.
